The STMPS2141STR distribution switch is suitable for applications with heavy capacitive loads and risk of short circuits. It contains a 90 mΩ N-channel MOSFET high side power switch for power distribution.
The device has smart protection features. It automatically switches to constant current mode when the output load exceeds the standard or a short circuit occurs. Thermal protection circuitry shuts down the switch to prevent damage when the switch’s power dissipation increases due to severe overload and short circuit junction temperature. Once the device has cooled sufficiently, the device will automatically recover from thermal shutdown.
