这 L7812CV device is one of the L78 series developed by STMicroelectronics. Available in TO-220, TO-220FP, D²PAK, and DPAK packages and a variety of fixed output voltages, this family of three-terminal regulators is suitable for a wide range of applications. These regulators provide local on-card regulation, eliminating distribution problems associated with single-point regulation. Each type embeds internal current limiting, thermal shutdown, and safe area protection, making them essentially indestructible. They can deliver more than 1 A of output current if adequate cooling is provided. Although primarily designed as fixed voltage regulators, these devices can be used with external components for adjustable voltage and current.
