The VNH7040AYTR contains a dual monolithic high-side driver and two low-side switches. All switches are designed using STMicroelectronics’ proprietary VIPower® M0 technology. This technology allows efficient integration of true power MOSFETs and smart signaling/protection circuits on the same chip. The device package uses PowerSSO-36, which provides better thermal performance through the exposed die pad.
The VNH7040AYTR has a Multisense_EN pin that can be used to enable MultiSense diagnostics.The input signals INA and INB can be connected directly to the microcontroller to select the motor direction and braking conditions.There are two select pins (SEL0 and SEL1) that can be used to address the information available on the Multisense to the microcontroller.
