The VNH5050ATR-E contains a dual monolithic high-side driver and two low-side switches. Proprietary VIPower® M0 technology allows efficient integration of true power MOSFETs and smart signaling/protection circuits on the same chip. The three chips are packaged in a PowerSSO-36 TP package and mounted on an electrically isolated lead frame.The package is designed for harsh automotive environments and offers better thermal performance due to the exposed die pad.
Additionally, its fully symmetrical mechanical design enables excellent manufacturability at the board level. The input signals INA and INB can be connected directly to the microcontroller to select the motor direction and braking conditions.One branch of the bridge is enabled when DIAGA/ENA or DIAGB/ENB is connected to an external pull-up resistor. Each DIAGA/ENA also provides digital diagnostic feedback signals.
