The SN65HVD234 is used as a CAN transceiver, each device provides transmission and reception functions between the differential CAN bus and the CAN controller, and the signaling speed is up to 1Mbps. The device features cross-line protection, overvoltage protection up to ±36V, ground-fault protection, overtemperature (thermal shutdown) protection, and common-mode transient protection to ±100V. These devices operate over a wide common-mode range of –7V to 12V.
