STMicroelectronics uses STMicroelectronics® VIPower® technology to make the VNL5160N3TR-E. The VNL5160N3TR-E is a monolithic device that drives a resistor or inductive load with one end connected to the battery.
The thermal shutdown has the ability to automatically restart, when the fault disappears, the VNL5160N3TR-E can resume working immediately. During shutdown, the inductive load is quickly demagnetized.
The built-in thermal shutdown protection chip of VNL5160N3TR-E can prevent the chip from generating heat and short circuit. In the event of overload, the output current limit can protect the device. Under long-term overload conditions, the device will keep power consumption in a safe state until thermal shutdown intervenes.
